What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable skin bio-remodelling treatment that stimulates the production of collagen and elastin and helps to significantly improve tissue quality. It contains stabilised hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance that helps the skin to retain moisture.
How quickly will I see results?
Although Profhilo treatments can instantly rejuvenate and hydrate skin, it typically takes 4 to 6 weeks for the effects to become visible. This is because the results are due to the effect the product has on the skin making it trigger formation of collagen and elastin which gives the skin its structure and firmness.
How many treatments will I need?
Profhilo is recommended as a course of two treatments spaced four weeks apart, and optimal results can be seen two weeks after the second treatment has been administered, with the results of the treatment lasting six months. Occasionally it is recommended to have a single booster treatment at three monthly intervals.
Is there anything I should not do after the treatment?
After the treatment it is recommended to avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours to reduce the risk of bruising and swelling. It is not recommended to have a sauna or steamy bath for 24 hours after treatment. Straight after the procedure the face may have ten small swollen points where the treatment has been administered. These may last up to 24 hours.
